A father and his two children drowned Saturday in the Little Tok River while on a family outing, Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers said Sunday the family was on a fishing trip when 10-year-old Laura McQuillin fell into the water. Her father, Rodney McQuillin, 48, and brother Paul, 16, jumped in to try to save her. All three drowned.

Troopers said they got an emergency call from the mother, 44-year-old Wanda McQuillin, about 7 p.m.

She reported all three had entered the water but had
